Salt is mentioned in the Bible over 40 times. It was used for many purposes and was even used as currency for wages in some instances. The translations of this passage in all three languages look identical. In this verse Jesus gives us a very nice compliment, "you are the salt of the earth". This is such a profound statement.

To be the salt of the earth means we are to be the most noble and honest of people. We are to be the spiritual flavor in a fallen world. Salt was used in place of refrigeration in those days to preserve food. We are to preserve Gods Truth and His Word. Salt was used to be added to the sacrifices offered to God. They were not to offer their sacrifices without salt. The salt of our sacrifices to God are a repentant heart. Salt can be used to represent purification, we are to ask God to purify our hearts through His Son. Salt was also used in judgement. God's judgement is Love towards us, the best flavor of all.

Technically, salt can never lose its flavor. So, what does the rest of this verse mean? What would it mean if we were to ignore our duties as disciples? What good are we as disciples if we are not performing the works of faith we know disciples are called to perform? Our salt becomes just like the rest of the dirt in the world.

I know most Christians including myself are broken and beaten, trying our hardest to repent from our sins and seem worthy. It is hard to see ourselves living up to the same potential as Christs disciples did while He was on earth. But the truth is we can do this through Christ, and we are called to do so. We are called to serve others and lead others in examples of His love and care. We cannot be bland, and never mention Him to others or perform an example of His character for someone.

We cannot ignore His teachings and start living in the way of the world. We will slowly lose our flavor and become tasteless. We will not be able to perform the duties that are bestowed upon us as His followers. We have to follow with our whole heart and not just with our mouths. We need to perform works of faith.

Another incredible revelation of this statement is that we literally are the salt of the earth. Pink Himalayan salt which is the purest salt on earth actually contains all 84 natural minerals found in the body of a man. Now before anyone accuses me of witchcraft or satanism, I do not read horoscopes nor do I believe in them. I do believe the astronomical signs originally belong to God and have been adulterated with time. The stars belong to Him and He uses them to tell stories of the past, present, and future. I have even seen studies of the entire life of Jesus found in the signs of the zodiac. With that being said, there are studies of the relation of the zodiac signs and the base salts that our bodies are made of. In the given time of the year we are born, our bodies actually inherit a base salt compound that is the existence of our flesh. We are made in accordance and fashion of the universe. For example, I am a Libra and my base salt would be 10 Sodium phosphate (Nat phos 6X).

I could use the salt my body is based off of to help keep me healthy. I could use it as a supplement. This discovery brings another reality to sight. Since God created us out of the dust of the earth, I am sure that includes the minerals and salts that are found in the dust of the earth. So when we die, our salt also perishes and returns to dust again. When we enter the Kingdom of Heaven we will be made perfect again and Gods original intent for creation will be restored. Our salt will never perish in the Kingdom of Heaven because we will never die. And if you remember our last studies, the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand.

I strongly believe that everyone is born in accordance with time and the universe, and that God designed it in this way. It has only become adulterated with evil by man. If anyone is interested in learning more about this, there are several books available online. Many of which can be found on Amazon. The book I am most familiar with is named The Zodiacs and The Salts of Salvation by George W. Carey. Below I will leave a list of the zodiac signs and the salts that belong to them.

Next week is the Passover, what I consider the most important time of year. I will send a special study that you are welcome to use in your home and read with your family and friends! We like to bake our own unleavened bread along with a feast, pray and study, share gifts and presents, and practice the memorial of Jesus/Yahusha with bread and wine.

See you then!
