Psalms 18:28 For thou wilt light my candle: the LORD my God will enlighten my darkness.

Salt and Light. Flavor and Beauty. This is who we are to our Father. Without Him we are empty, missing the flavor, and dark inside. Our sin has stained our being and prevented us to be as close to our Father as we are made to be.

I have struggled deeply with this in my life. My light has been dim, and was put under the bushel for a long time. I chose to go down the wrong path because of my anger for my past. If it wasn't for Gods grace my anger would have destroyed my life a long time ago.

Regardless, God has shined His Light upon me. He has turned His face towards me and He has loved me. He saves me from myself, over and over again through the grace of His Son.

He has sent His Spirit to us. The light is spirit. The darkness is spirit also. We are all full of spirit, some dark and some light. The spirit of light comes from our Father. It is His Son. He is the spirit of light within us. His spirit lights up the home he dwells in. We are the home. We are the temple, the church, and His dwelling place.

The spirit of darkness is within all of us since the fall of man. I do not blame the devil for the spirit of darkness within. That would be childish and irresponsible. The darkness within is cause of our own decisions. The sins we have committed and the pain we have caused to our own life and others.

God has sent His light to destroy this darkness within us and within the world. It is His grace that sheds this light. It is His grace that grants us repentance from our sins. It is His grace that has paid the price for our wickedness, our selfishness, our pride, our envy, our lust, and lies.

It is His grace that abolishes this darkness. It is His Son who is His grace. It is His Son who is the repentance. It is His Son who is the change we seek in our lives and within ourselves. We cannot overcome without His Son and accepting what He has done for us.

We must do more than accept. Accepting this free gift is the kindling of the light within us. We have to bring in alignment our hearts with our works and search for our Father. We cannot search for Him in darkness because He is not there. We have to search for him in the light.

As we search for Him we will find Him and His spirit of light will blaze within our hearts as we continue to grow within Him. As he continues to grow within us. When we decrease He will increase. When we increase He will decrease. This is the light under the basket.

He will not force Himself upon us or upon the world until the appointed time. For now we have a choice to let that little light shine, or to put a basket over it and walk in our own ways. In my experience this has not worked out so well for me.

He is searching for us. He is looking and measuring those who are searching for Him. He is counting and placing us in order for the age to come when we will meet Him again. We have the choice to be as close to him as we want to be. Only our darkness holds us back from Him. He has giving us the free gift of light so that we may shine in a world full of darkness. And that we may be an example of the symbol of hope for others that His Son is for the world.

He loves us so much. He loves you. He has given us a light and we are to let it shine with our works matching our faith for all to see. So that we can be the light that leads the way for others to find Him also. Who loves God? He is looking for them.

John 1:5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.

The darkness does not understand Him! There is no wisdom in darkness!
