Sabbath Bible Study

King James Version Matthew 5: 23-24

Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee;

Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.

Oun ean prospherēs sou dōron epi to thysiastērion kakei mnēsthēs hoti sou adelphos echei ti kata sou

aphes sou dōron ekei emprosthen tou thysiastēriou prōton hypage diallagēthi tō sou adelphō tote elthōn prosphere sou dōron

Therefore if you are offering your gift at the alter and there remember that your brother has something against you,

leave your gift there before the alter. First go [and] be reconciled to your brother; then come [and] offer your gift.

Salkinson-Ginsburg Hebrew N.T. Matthew 5: 23-24 (Read Left To Right)

Therefore, when you offer a sacrifice on the altar, and your heart will grieve you there, because your brother has spoken of a quarrel with you:

place your sacrifice there before the altar, and go your way. Gather and strengthen your brother and let him come and then offer your sacrifice

If you have ever had a fight with a sibling or a best friend, then you know what Yahusha is talking about. Specifically, He is mentioning not only a family member but anyone of the same Faith.

Sometimes we can hold grudges and remember the wrong doing done against us. It is easy to feel right in our anger against our offenders and hold it against them.

To the Pharisees everything was an outward expression, including how they worshipped God. Yahusha exposed the Heart and taught to worship God in Spirit because God is Spirit. John 4:24

The old ways of worshipping God were being done away with. God could not accept a sacrifice and it meant nothing, if anger and hatred was kept within the heart. The sacrifice was only an outward and bland expression of worship. Vain and without meaning.

Yahusha says, to be forgiven we must forgive others. Matthew 6:14-15 How could God forgive us our sins if we did not also have forgiveness in our hearts towards others also?

It is like the parable Yahusha spoke of when the king forgave the debt of his servant after he begged for his life, then the servant went home and beat his very own servant who owed him money and punished him severely. Matthew 18:21-35

God does not take pleasure in this. A sorrowful and broken heart for our sins is an acceptable sacrifice unto God, not the outward stage of sacrificing an animal with unforgiveness in our heart. Psalms 51:17

So, let us practice forgiveness of others this week. Including forgiveness of ourselves. Then, the forgiveness of God can move freely in our lives.

Sabbath Book to Read

Behold A Pale Horse

Bill Cooper, former United States Naval Intelligence Briefing Team member, reveals information that remains hidden from the public eye. This information has been kept in topsecret government files since the 1940s. His audiences hear the truth unfold as he writes about the assassination of John F. Kennedy, the war on drugs, the secret government, and UFOs. Bill is a lucid, rational, and powerful speaker whose intent is to inform and to empower his audience. Standing room only is normal. His presentation and information transcend partisan affiliations as he clearly addresses issues in a way that has a striking impact on listeners of all backgrounds and interests. He has spoken to many groups throughout the United States and has appeared regularly on many radio talk shows and on television. In 1988 Bill decided to "talk" due to events then taking place worldwide, events that he had seen plans for back in the early 1970s. Bill correctly predicted the lowering of the Iron Curtain, the fall of the Berlin Wall, and the invasion of Panama. All Bill's predictions were on record well before the events occurred. Bill is not a psychic. His information comes from top secret documents that he read while with the Intelligence Briefing Team and from over seventeen years of research.Revised edition excludes the hateful forgery Protocols of the Elders of Zion. Had Mr. Cooper known it was a forgery, he would never have included it in his book.

Sabbath Health Tip

Reduce stress by not worrying...

Matthew 6:25-34 Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment? Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they? Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature? And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith? Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

...and resting on the Sabbath day

Leviticus 23:3. Six days shall work be done: but the seventh day is the sabbath of rest, an holy convocation; ye shall do no work therein: it is the sabbath of the LORD in all your dwellings.
